Chugga, chugga, choo-choo!

Took the kids to the Northwest Railway Museum today and rode the vintage train from Snoquamlie Falls to North Bend. I use the word "vintage" loosely. Some might describe it as...old, run down, beat up or dilapidated...but we thought it was great. It's nice to see those old cars still lumbering down the rails, the trip is the perfect length for kids and it's CHEAP. Nathan is really into trains right now, we had a blast. The steam engines on display and the ones you pass in the yard are amazing.

Nate and Daddy at the races!

Went for a drive in the fastback today, Nate and I stopped by the TCMotorsports shop here in Auburn. It's just across the alley from Pat's Autosport where I did my HPDE ground school with IRDC. Anyway, they're vintage mustang guys and Miata/BMW racers that perform high-end fab work on all types of race cars. Very nice and really gave Nate the VIP treatment during our visit, letting him crawl all over their race cars and hauler.

Nate was so excited, he want to see a race NOW! ;-)

So, we hustled out to Pacific Raceways, unsure if anything was even happening this weekend. Lucky for us, there was nostalgia drag qualifying going on when we arrived! Nate LOVED it...I have a feeling we'll be spending a LOT of time there together in the coming years.
